I have had the privilege of practicing pediatrics in the New Hampshire Seacoast for 35 years. Unfortunately, over that time our practice has diagnosed many infants, children and young adults with various forms of cancer. The team at Pediatric Associates has been fortunate in being able to refer these young people to one of the world’s finest cancer treatment centers – namely the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Over the years I have frequently donated to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund and the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). This year, I wanted to raise that commitment to a higher level by riding the PMC. My primary reason was to honor our many patients who have been treated at the Dana-Farber Center Institute over the years. I also wanted to honor the many family, friends and colleagues who have had to battle cancer. And in particular, I wanted to ride in honor of one particular young patient who started her treatment earlier this year.
Since I completed my residency in 1977, there have been amazing advances in the treatment of many forms of cancer. However, much still needs to be done and all the money raised through the PMC goes toward cancer research and treatment. I would urge you to consider making a donation to this very worthy cause. You can make a donation by following the weblinks from the "donate" tab listed at the top of this page, or by navigating to the website PMC.org (my ID number is HT0028 – H.dixon Turner) or by writing a check to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and mailing it or dropping it off to Pediatric Associates at 330 Borthwick Ave. Suite 202 / Portsmouth, NH 03801. PMC is a 501(c)3 organization so your donation is entirely tax deductible.
My patients and their families as well as the multitude of other patients and families dealing with cancer and cared-for at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will greatly benefit from your contribution. I sincerely thank you for your consideration.
Cheers,
Dixon
